20-acre site near Penrith sold to developer

A 20-acre site near Penrith has been sold to a Preston-based developer for an undisclosed sum.

Rayner Rowen Developments has completed the acquisition of the land near Junction 41 of the M6, which has planning permission for up to 236,000sq ft of industrial space.

The firm said it was already in talks with interested parties.

The land was previously owned by PFK.

Andy Lavin, director at Rayner Rowen Developments, said: “This site is great acquisition as we continue to grow our development pipeline.

“It is very rare for such a large, consented site adjacent to the motorway to come to the market and we are confident that it will attract not only local occupiers but also those from further afield wanting direct motorway access.

“We are already in discussions, which is reflective of the high occupier demand we are seeing for industrial space across the region.

“We plan to open access to the site in early 2022.”

Carlisle-based property agency Walton Goodland has been appointed as letting agent for the scheme.
Rayner Rowen Developments is part of construction firm Rayner Rowen, which earlier this year was appointed by Saracens RFC to redevelop the club’s west stand at its StoneX Stadium.
