Retail giant Matalan has addressed speculation that it plans to move its Carlisle store to new premises.
A spokesman for the company said Matalan “had no plans to relocate its Carlisle store”, which is currently on Station Business Retail Park, off James Street.
Also involved in the rumours were Primark, with many suggesting that the fast-fashion retailer has plans to move to a bigger premises.
When approached by Cumbria Crack about the rumours, a spokeswoman for the company said: “We continually review opportunities for expansion of the Primark business however, as you’d expect, we don’t comment on speculation about where or when we might open our next stores.”
