A climate change rally will be held in Carlisle city centre on Saturday.
The Climate Justice Demo has been organised by several groups, including trade unions, community organisations and activists.
It takes place between noon and 3pm.
A spokesman for the groups said: “Despite years of talks and empty words from Government we are still to see any real action and we are today facing a more perilous situation than ever before.
“We have witnessed the devastating impact of climate change with wildfires in Greece and Turkey, flash floods in London and in Germany as well as the recent, significant flooding of many homes in our own city.
“We need more than words and targets, we need action, we need it now and we all need to be involved and play a part in creating a more sustainable future for all our sakes.”
There will be speakers, singers and musicians at the event.
