A popular bubble tea brand has launched its second location in West Cumbria, creating nine jobs.

Deja Brew launched three weeks prior to the first national lockdown in March 2020 and is now celebrating a warm welcome from the people of Egremont following its launch on the town’s Main Street.

The brand which sells bubble tea, ramen, Hong Kong bubble waffles, speciality coffees is spearheaded by entrepreneur Thomas Cheung.

He said: “I’m proud of the brand, our team and I’m incredibly grateful for the support from our community, our customers and fans.

“We have had people travel from across the county for our bubble tea and waffles! With Egremont we noticed we’d be able to tap into the commuters’ market and are now open longer until 5pm.

“The fact we have been able to expand so quickly, factoring in a global pandemic, is credit to Cumbria, our county is fantastic at rallying around small businesses.

“I’m equally as passionate about creating local employment opportunities as I am getting our delicious products to as many people as possible! With the launch of our second café, we have already hired nine people from the local area and had over 400 customers come through the door.
