Carlisle College is delighted to welcome back a former executive chef for Gordon Ramsay and an ex-student.

Scott Price started his career at Carlisle College, where he studied catering and hospitality; over the years he has launched his own restaurants and concepts company in Dubai and worked with high-end brands such as Marks & Spencer.

Scott has recently returned to the area, along with his family after working and living in Dubai.

Scott said: “I am really excited and proud to be back in Carlisle College as part of the team.

“I want to share some of the tips and tricks I have picked up through my years of cooking and give people a little more confidence in the kitchen and to enjoy the process.”

Scott’s first masterclass was well received with a sellout session. The group spent the evening making a roasted tomato soup and olive oil and rosemary focaccia.

Chetna Reay, who attended the first masterclass said: “I signed up to the masterclass as I had heard about Scott and had visited his restaurant in Dubai – so a chance to learn from such an amazing chef was something I was excited about. The whole evening was full of fun and we all learnt to make some gorgeous food.

“He made it so simple to follow and with the finest ingredients. I can’t wait for the next one and have recommended it to all my friends. People have seen the photos on social media and contacted me to ask about it, I’ve told them to book fast as places are limited.”

Suzanne Wannop, Director of Learner Experience and Community Engagement at Carlisle College said: “We are extremely proud of our alumni and always love to hear what they have been doing since they left us, so welcoming Scott back to the College has been fantastic.

“Scott has also spent time with some of our current catering and hospitality students. Not many chefs can say they worked alongside Gordon Ramsay, he is a great inspiration. We are delighted to be able to host the cooking masterclasses.”

Upcoming masterclasses include a chocolate-themed evening as well as a beef wellington dine and demo experience.

Scott added: “For our next masterclass I will be teaching people how to make a chocolate mousse that can be used for lots of different things, a rich chocolate tart from scratch, and a classic hot chocolate fondant. Whether you want to impress your friends and family with your new cooking skills or you just want to come along and enjoy the evening, these sessions are suitable for all.”
