A revamped South Lakes pub will throw open its doors for an official opening on Friday.
The Royal Oak in Cartmel was taken over by the Flookburgh-based Fell Brewery and its reopening has been timed to coincide with the Christmas lights switch-on.
The refurbished watering hole on The Square has been open for a few weeks, serving independent, small batch beers, wines and spirits.
Behind the scenes, its team has been working around the clock to gut and refit the kitchen.
Now the work is complete, the first cooking and menu tasting has begun ahead of Friday’s launch.
The core team at the pub is led by general managers Alex Lunan and Ruth Birkett.
Head chef is Daniel Higham, who counts Staveley’s Beer Hall among his past endeavours, assisted by James Bradbury.
