Three apprentices from BAE Systems in Barrow have made it into the finals of the prestigious Make UK Awards.
The awards recognise excellence among apprentices in UK-based manufacturing companies. Twelve Submarines apprentices were recognised at the North West regional heat.
Going to the final in London will be Hannah Kassell in the Rising Star – Business Apprentice category, Mike Glover in the Rising Star – Engineering Apprentice Category and Kaylee McIsaac in the Apprentice Endeavour Award Category.
Phil Athersmith, BAE Systems Submarines head of early careers delivery, said: “Our apprentices are some of the best in the UK so it was great to see that we were well represented in a range of different categories at the Make UK regional heat.
“Congratulations to all the nominees and good luck to Hannah, Mike and Kaylee in the national final.”
The final will be held on Thursday, January 27.
