19-year-old woman dies following A591 crash

A 19-year-old woman has died following a collision on the A591.

Lana Maddison, of Silloth, was a passenger in a black Ford Fiesta which collided with a tree on Sunday, November 28, between Crosthwaite roundabout and Lyzzick Hall, near Keswick.

She died at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle on Friday.

Ms Maddison’s family said: “Our family are absolutely devastated at the loss of our beautiful daughter.”

Ms Maddison’s family continue to be supported by specialist officers and have requested privacy at this time.

An investigation continues into the collision.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward, particularly those who may have been travelling westbound around the time of the collision.
