Three games in Division One of the Workington and District Sunday League produced a goal feast.

A remarkable 31 goals were recorded and the closest game was a 6-0 victory for Sun Inn Athletic at The Junction.

Sports photographer Ben Challis decided to take in the game between Maryport Athletic and Senhouse Street where the Workington side were 9-1 winners.

It was 4-0 at half-time and the win enabled Senhouse Street to go second in the Division One table, leap-frogging their defeated opponents.

The Senhouse Street goals came from Terry Wharrier (3), Scott Underwood (3), Kieran Messenger (2) and Ryan Clubley.

That big win was eclipsed by Flimby Social whjo were 15-0 winners at home to Highfield.

Max Litt (4), Lazo Rayner (3), Kyle Davis (2), Lee Birks (2), Stephen Thompson, Jacob Baker, Michael Grace and Darren McKenzie.

As mention, tightest game in this Division was Sun Inn Athletic’s 6-0 win at the Junction when there were goals from Daniel Dobson (2), Stephen Wilson, Daniel Stockdale and Flynn Charters. They didn’t really need the added help of an own goal.

The one game in the Premier Division proved a bit one-sided as champions Northside romped to a 9-0 win at Salterbeck.

There were goals for Jamie Bramley (3), Jack Wilson (2), Adam Kilgour (2), Callum Speakes and Jake Wright.

In the Sunday League Cup quarter final there was a very good 4-0 win for Dearham against Sun Inn.

Danny Dryden grabbed a hat-trick and Jack Brown was also on target.

In the semi-final Dearham will be away to Northside while Deer Orchard host Seaton Rangers in the other semi-final.

The President’s Cup semi-final will see Dearham host Northside in a fixture reversal while the winners of Sun Inn Athletic and Deer Orchard will visit Sun Inn in the other semi-final.

There’s only one league game on next Sunday, 19th December, when Dearham entertain Sun Inn in the Premier Division and then fixtures will resume on January 16.
