People from across Workington and beyond joined a massive search for missing man Nicholas Degraff.
He has now been missing for four days and friends, family and the community of Workington joined together to search for him.
Nicholas, 23, was last seen on Sunday at around 5am in Great Clifton.
He planned to walk home and set off towards the town. He has not been seen since.
Emergency services were alerted at about 12.40pm on Sunday and police, mountain rescue teams, Maryport Inshore Rescue, Coastguard teams and the fire service have all been involved in looking for him.
Divers and dog handlers have also been brought in.
Tonight, a police spokesman said: “Searches are still underway, with search teams searching the river bank and the river itself in and around Workington and the Calva Brow area. Members of the public continue to provide lines of enquiry. We continue to appeal for anyone with information or any potential sightings to get in touch.”
It is believed his jacket was found under Calva Bridge, although that has not been confirmed.
A police inspector involved in the search for missing Workington man Nicholas Degraff has urged people to check dashcams, sheds and outbuildings for any signs of him.
“We encourage people to continue to check dashcams in the Great Clifton area in the early hours of Sunday morning, to check sheds and outbuildings,” said police Inspector Laura Boyd.
She also encouraged anyone who is available to come forward and help with searches.
“What I would say is that no one should put themselves at risk and to stay safe at all times,” she added.
Anyone who has knowledge of Nicholas’ whereabouts is urged to call 999.
Nicholas is described as 5ft 10in, of slim build and with short, brown hair.
He has tattoos on his face and neck with spacer ear piercings.
He was last seen wearing a black jacket, black jogging bottoms, work boots and carrying an Iceland carrier bag. He had an Alsatian dog with him.
Nicholas also had in his possession a 3M SPEED GLAS black welding mask – likely carried in a bag – which would be quite distinctive if found, police said.
Anyone with any other information is urged to report it at www.cumbria.police.uk/reportit or call 101.
