Emergency services were called to an incident in Workington yesterday.

Police, the North West Ambulance Service and the Great North Air Ambulance were called to the Harcourt Street area of the town, near the railway station, at around 3.20pm yesterday, Thursday July 17.

Cumbria police said they were called at around 3.20pm after it was reported that a man had suffered a cardiac arrest in Harcourt Street.

The man subsequently died, police said.

Police at the scene arrested a 34-year-old local woman on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of cocaine.

She remains in police custody this morning.

The air ambulance landed on the green at Bromley Court.
