The search for a Workington man last seen on Sunday are continuing.
Nicholas Degraff, 23, was last seen in Great Clifton’s Rosemary Gardens at around 5am.
He set off home with his Alsatian, but has not been seen since then.
His dog was found running loose and is unharmed.
A massive community effort has got underway to help find Nicholas, with people from across the town and beyond joining emergency services in the search.
People are still out searching and the main focus is the side of the River Derwent to Barepot.
Anyone who is joining the search is asked to be vigilant when walking the shorelines north and south of Workington.
His jacket was found in the River below Calva Bridge, and his dog lead has been found this morning in the river by Great Clifton.
his family said: “We don’t have the words to thank everyone for all the love and the unbelievable help. We are forever grateful.”
Nicholas is described as 5ft 10in, of slim build and with short, brown hair.
He has tattoos on his face and neck with spacer ear piercings.
He was last seen wearing a black jacket, black jogging bottoms, work boots and carrying an Iceland carrier bag. This was earlier described by police as a grey bag, but friends say it was a carrier bag.
Nicholas also had in his possession a 3M SPEED GLAS black welding mask – likely carried in a bag – which would be quite distinctive if found, police said.
Anyone with any other information is urged to report it at www.cumbria.police.uk/reportit or call 101.
A police spokesman said “Searches are continuing for missing Nicolas Degraff.
“We are continuing to appeal for appeal for anyone with information or any potential sightings to please get in touch.”
