- Two arrests for beaching dispersal orders – an 25-year-old man and an 22-year-old man.
- Ten It’s Your Choice forms were given to young people, looking to start early intervention work to try and change offending.
- One 15-year-old taken for Cannabis possession, they are to be interviewed at a later date.
- Adult searched and cannabis found, they are to be interviewed at a later date.
- Two 14-year-olds taken home after throwing a shopping trolley into the river.
- Seizure of an e-scooter as the rider did not have insurance or a driving licence to use such a scooter.
- Four criminal offences recorded with suspects for each to be progressed.
Tackling anti-social behaviour in Workington remains a high priority for officers in West Cumbria, Cumbria Constabulary said.
Sergeant Scott Adams said: “We are working closer with partners both in the business community and in other agencies than ever before to tackle anti-social-behaviour in Workington town centre.
“We are currently seeing a month by month decline in the number of anti-social behaviour incidents being reported to the police. However, we are keen to ensure all incidents are being reported, which is why we are committed to improving links and building relationships.
“We have still seen a number of incidents of anti-social behaviour and are continuing to run these operations to tackle the issues.
“Anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated by the police and partners. It creates a blight in society, negatively affecting individuals, their wider families, and whole communities.
“Parents can all support this by asking where their children are going, we would also encourage the public to continue to report anti-social behaviour as this is the best way to direct resources to the right areas to combat these incidents.
“Anyone with any information regarding anti-social behaviour is asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
