An appeal has been launched to find a man who was acting suspiciously in the Birkett Hill area of Bowness-on-Windermere.
Damage was caused to a parked blue Vauxhall Astra in a layby next to the A592 shortly late at night on December 29.
A man was seen to be acting suspiciously in the area at the time and made a number of attempts to stop passing vehicles.
Police said they would like to speak to the man or any motorists who may recall seeing him, appearing drunk, in the road.
Police would also like those who may have passed to consider reviewing and submitting any dashcam footage they may have.
