Roadworks are set to begin in Bowness on Windermere on Monday.
Cumbria County Council is redesigning the Crag Brow mini-roundabout to improve pedestrian safety.
A temporary three-way traffic signal system at the junction of the A5074 will be installed while work is carried out.
A night closure will also take place the week before and after the half-term holiday, but there are no plans to work during February’s half-term holiday – week commencing February 14.
A county council spokesman said: “We apologise in advance for any inconvenience that these road improvements might cause, and we appreciate your patience while our work is being conducted.”
