Cumbrian accountancy and business services firm David Allen has announced its 2022 Charity of the Year partner as the Lake District Calvert Trust.

For over 40 years The Lake District Calvert Trust has been welcoming guests with disabilities to their dedicated centre, in order to enjoy the benefits of their outdoor activities in a safe and accessible, yet challenging environment. They provide an array of outdoor activities such as hand biking, cycling, ghyll scrambling, orienteering and much more.

The partnership, which runs from January to January, allows the David Allen firm, including all of its regional offices across Dalston, Dumfries, Penrith, Carlisle and Workington to dedicate their entire fundraising activities to one local cause.

Marketing and Business Development Manager, Holly Housby said: “We have opted for a dedicated charity for a number of years now, it means that we can make a significant impact to one local worthwhile cause.

“Whilst we would love to support every single local charity, this approach means we can pack more of a punch with our efforts and hopefully make a transformational difference.

“We have over 150 people in Team DA and our charity partner is very much chosen by them because it’s their fantastic input, fundraising and volunteering which enables us to make such a difference.

“We are absolutely delighted to name The Lake District Calvert Trust as our 2022 Charity of the Year and look forward to raising funds for the worthwhile centre. We have lots of exciting plans to get the fundraising initiatives started.”

Jennifer Scott, Fundraising Manager with the Calvert Trust Lake District said: “We are absolutely delighted that the staff of David Allen have chosen us as their 2022 Charity of the Year partner for the coming year.

“We are looking forward to a very exciting year working in partnership with their team. Their support: volunteering, raising essential funds and awareness about our charity, will make a huge difference to the children and adults with disabilities who benefit from a visit to Calvert.”

David Allen, Managing Partner at the firm said: “As a local business and employer across Cumbria, we recognise the importance of giving something back to the communities in which we live and work and as such I am proud to be partnering with the Lake District Calvert Trust for 2022.”
