A Cumbrian brewery has won awards after only five months in business.
Lakes Brew Company, based in Kendal, scooped a gold and two silvers for its beers at the Society of Independent Brewers regional awards.
It also won the Branding of the Year accolade in the National Brewers Journal – Brewers Choice Awards 2021.
Michelle Gay, co-founder and creative director, said: “We are immensely proud of the team, we have worked really hard over the last year to get the brewery started and to have such prestigious recognition for both the beers and the branding has really blown us away.”
Lakes Brew Co worked closely with Kendal-based graphic design company Scratch Creative to bring together their ideas.
No stranger for his brews winning awards in his previous role, head brewer and co-founder Matt Clarke said: “Winning a gold for our New England Session IPA and two silvers for our West Coast IPA and DDH Pale at the SIBA awards has been amazing.
“Being able to get back to what I love to do and have the freedom to brew what styles we want, with such a close team has been a great end to a busy year.”
