Eve Halliday, business growth manager at Cumbria Chamber of Commerce

To celebrate International Women’s Day next month, Cumbria Chamber of Commerce will host an all-day event packed with workshops, inspiring speakers and presentations from a range of businesswomen.

As part of the Chamber’s Women in Business series, the event held at North Lakes Hotel & Spa, Penrith, on March 8, will welcome people from across the county to network, learn and celebrate amazing women in business in Cumbria.

Cumbria’s International Women’s Day is sponsored by Baines Wilson LLP, North Lakes Hotel & Spa, University of Cumbria’s CUSP II and Laura Cadman Limited.

The day will consist of a series of inspiring and informative workshops, a two-course lunch and a panel discussion with Q&A with leading businesswomen in Cumbria.

Eve Halliday, business growth manager at Cumbria Chamber of Commerce, said: “International Women’s Day is a day to recognise and celebrate the achievements of women across the globe. We’re fortunate here in Cumbria to have many incredible women in varied roles who are making a positive impact as part of the business community.

“This event is open to all, and I’m really looking forward to getting everyone together for a day of inspiration and networking, something I think we’ve all missed over the last two years.

“There’s so much talent, knowledge and drive from our female leaders in Cumbria and we hope this event will help to showcase that.”

Joanne Holborn, partner and head of employment law and training at Baines Wilson, said: “We always look forward to supporting International Women’s Day and we can’t wait to hear from trailblazing business women of Cumbria at this event and to celebrate the incredible achievements of all the business women in our county.”

Sarah Allison, Project Manager of CUSP II, University of Cumbria said: “Cumbria Innovations Platform – CUSP II is delighted to be part of this event celebrating Cumbrian women in business.  We are especially looking forward to talking about women in innovation, the vital role they play and the amazing contribution they make”
