H&H Land & Estates have announced that two of their employees have achieved their professional career goals by qualifying as RICS chartered surveyors.
Nick Mullins working in the Carlisle office, and Hannah Maynard, based in Durham, have become members of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), and fully qualified rural chartered surveyors.
The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) is an international professional body for surveyors, which aims to promote and enforce the highest international standards in the valuation, management, and development of land, real estate, construction, and infrastructure.
Nick Mullins lives in Houghton, just outside of Carlisle.
He initially studied environmental science at Newcastle University developing an interest in agriculture and the environment.
After working in the charities sector, Nick worked on a farm in Devon and then moved to Cumbria to gain experience working on local farms.
During this time, he was offered some work experience with a local rural surveyor and subsequently with H&H Land & Estates.
This introduced him to the diversity of work of a rural surveyor and he was then successful in securing a full-time role with the company.
Nick said: “I am feeling absolutely delighted to have passed my APC to become a member of the RICS.
“The past four years have been hard work and I am pleased to have passed my masters in rural estate and land management from Harper Adams University (while working full-time), become a fellow of Central Association of Agricultural Valuer, and I am thrilled that I can add being a member of RICS to my achievements.
“I am enormously grateful to all my colleagues at H&H Land & Estates for all their help and training, as well as my family and friends for their care and patience. They have all been a fantastic support and encouragement to me throughout.”
Nick and Hannah are now able to use the RICS professional designation, MRICS, recognised and respected globally as a mark of excellence and integrity. It brings with it many benefits and provides an opportunity for them both to play their part in shaping the future of their profession.
Thomas Armstrong, director and chartered surveyor, said: “This is such a milestone moment for these two and their careers. Passing the RICS exam ensures Nick and Hannah are providing the highest quality of client service with the skill, knowledge and experience they now have.
“We pride ourselves at H&H Land & Estates on encouraging the younger and newer members of our team to continuously strive to learn and increase their knowledge and qualifications. Nick and Hannah are proof that we are providing the right environment for learning and hard work, and it’s great for us to see evidence of that.”
