A Cumbrian accountancy trainee has won two awards for getting the highest marks in the country.
Dodd & Co’s Hannah Williams, who is currently studying for the Association of Tax Technicians qualification, has landed herself the top place in the country for two of her exams.
Hannah has bagged the Jennings Medal, which is awarded to the candidate with the highest mark in business taxation and the Collingwood Medal, awarded to the candidate with the highest mark in business compliance.
Hannah joined Dodd & Co in 2019 after a short spell in administration following the completion of an integrated masters degree in mathematics at the University of St Andrews.
She said: “I would have been delighted to receive one distinction grade, let alone two. I almost didn’t bother to check the prize list as I didn’t think I could have won anything. When I saw I had won them both I couldn’t believe it.”
Heidi Marshall, partner at Dodd & Co, said: “We are over the moon for Hannah and extremely proud to see her excel in her achievements, especially in her most recent exams.
“She continues to demonstrate how hard she works, with amazing determination and drive, and we look forward to seeing her shine in her future endeavours. For Hannah to win both awards is absolutely outstanding, and she truly deserves the recognition.”
