Work is set to begin on a 29-home estate in a village near Kendal.
Jones Homes is building the estate – called Helmdale – in Natland, on land off Sedgwick Road.
The development includes 19 new three, four and five-bedroom houses for private sale, and 10 affordable properties available via rent or shared ownership.
The estate was approved by South Lakeland District planners in December and it is hoped the first homes will be released for sale this summer.
Jones Homes is also building three, four and five-bedroom homes in Kendal at its Stonecross Meadows development.
