Revive furniture centre in Whitehaven has teamed up with Go Your Own Way and Cumberland Council to deliver a summer holiday programme in Whitehaven
Running for a day per week over six weeks, each session will feature activities including non-contact rugby, sports, team games, creative crafts and wellbeing activities, with a healthy meal and refreshments provided.
The programme, which begins on Tuesday July 21, is open to children aged seven to 11 and will run every Tuesday from 9.30am to 2.30pm at Revive’s HQ in Mirehouse.
Organisers said the programme had been developed to provide children with opportunities to stay active, learn new skills and enjoy experiences during the summer, while giving parents and carers access to high-quality, affordable holiday provision.
It is part of the Government’s Holiday Activities and Food programme, which provides funded holiday activities, nutritious meals and enriching experiences for children who are eligible for benefits-related free school meals.
The initiative aims to help children stay active, build confidence, make new friends and enjoy positive experiences during the school holidays.
Alongside Cumberland Council-funded HAF places for eligible children, paid places are also available.
Home-educated children are also eligible for free HAF-funded places, helping to make the programme as accessible and inclusive as possible.
