Workington and District Sunday League has announced the dates for four Cup finals at the end of the season.

Workington’s Borough Park will be used for three of them, provided Reds are not involved in play-off games in the NPL West.

The management committee has still to decide which dates will stage the League Cup, President’s Cup and two Divisional Cup finals.

The dates are Friday, April 29 (subject to Workington AFC not in the play-off); Sunday, May 1 and Thursday, May 5.

The last of the finals will be staged at Flimby’s ground on Sunday, May 8. Kick-off times will be confirmed later when the respective finals have been allocated.

The Sunday programme was again affected by the weather at the weekend but there was some action with four games taking place.

There was one game in Division One which saw Senhouse Street beat The Junction 7-0.

Regular goal-scorer Terry Wharrier helped himself to a hat-trick and he was supported by Chris Williams, Connor Jarman, Declan Moore and Zac Starkie.

The other games were all in the Divisional Cup, two of them really well contested affairs.

In the Premier Division section Northside had to work hard to beat Salterbeck 3-1 as goals from Jamie Glover, Liam McCullough and Jamie Bramley got them over the line. Luke Montgomery responded for the losers.

In the Division One section Maryport Athletic got the better of Flimby Social Club 4-2 with goals from James Penman, Cameron Harker, Macauley Sharp and Ciaran Laverty.

Regular marksman Lazo Rayner scored both for the visitors.

The other tie in the Division One section was a bit more one-sided with Sun Inn Athletic winning 8-0 at Highfield.

Brad Williamson (3), Mark Campbell (2), Flynn Charters (2) and Daniel Dobson supplied the goals.

League secretary Ron Caffrey has confirmed that the league transfer system will carry on to the end of the season.

This Sunday’s fixtures are: Premier League Divisional Cup – Blue Bell v Northside; Sun Inn v Dearham. League One Divisional Cup – Highfield v JJ’s.

Division One – Flimby Social Club v Sun Inn Athletic.
