A redundant stone barn in a South Cumbrian village is set to go under the hammer next month.
H&H Land & Estates is offering the barn on the edge of Bouth, near Ulverston, with a guide price of £80,000 to £100,000, at an auction in Kendal.
The estate agent says the barn, which measures 15m x 8.5m on a 570sq m plot, has the potential for conversion, subject to necessary planning consent.
Helena White, chartered surveyor with H&H Land & Estates, said: “This is a rare opportunity to buy an idyllic plot with development potential, in a beautiful situation in the Lake District National Park.
“Rural properties like this are highly sought after, and a redundant barn we sold last year fetched over double our estimate.
“This particular barn currently has no formal planning consent, but informal advice has been sought and a letter of support for an affordable local occupancy house has been received from the Lake District National Park Authority, so I am sure this property will be in high demand.”
The auction takes place at Kendal Town Hall on April 7 at 3pm.
