Three under-18 players from Carlisle United have been suspended with immediate effect.
The suspensions follow social media comments made before the game, relating to the opposition Carlisle City in the Cumberland Cup semi-final at Gillford Park, yesterday, Tuesday March 22.
The under-18 players sent a message saying “Game day vs 50 year olds. Lets av it.”
Carlisle City beat Carlisle United 2-1 in the match.
The club said it was investigating and would make no further comment at this stage.
