Pirelli and Workington Athletic took advantage of Cumberland County League leaders Aspatria’s occupation in the Whitehaven Cup to reduce the points gap between them
Pirelli travelled to Maryport Athletic and returned with all three points from a 3-1. Kieron Blair (2) and Luke Firth scored the Pirelli goals while the Athletic battled away, reducing the arrears with a strike from regular scorer Ethan Weir.
Workington Athletic had home advantage and took all three points on their 3G against Gosforth, scoring eight goals without reply. Gareth Brunton (2), Macauley Sharp (2) Tom Pardini (2), Eli Demetriou and Tommy Whitehead were on the score sheet for Athletic.

In the Whitehaven Cup, Aspatria progressed with a 3-1 win over near neighbours Wigton Harriers. A double from Andrew Trestianu was accompanied by an effort from Wayne Iredale which ensured Aspatria’s progress. Jonny Studholme chipped in with the reply from Wigton
Windscale Reserves completed their fixtures for the season going down 6-0 away to Whitehaven Miners in the Divisional Cup.
It looked as though the game might go into double figures with the score 4-0 at half time to the home side. However, the young Windscale side settled better in the last 45 minutes conceding only a further two goals and missing three golden opportunities to get on the scoresheet.
Miners goals came from Bradley Glaister (2), Jamie Thursby, Owen Woods, Dylan Elsworth and ex-Windscale youth goalkeeper, Lewis Park.
The competition, which was structured on a round robin basis, will conclude with a one-off final between the two teams finishing in the top two positions.
