
Three fire crews were called to rescue four people who had become stuck on an island in the River Derwent near Workington.
Three fire engines were called at around 7.10pm on Saturday to Fernbank Lane, off Meadow Edge in Barepot.
Fire service swift water technicians rescued four people trapped using wading poles, a rescue sledge and a one hundred metre canyon line.
Fire crews were on the scene for about an hour.
