The A596 near Wigton is closed following a serious collision.
Police were called at about 1.25pm today to the incident which involved a tractor and a Toyota.
Police, ambulance crews and fire officers are at the scene.
The road will remain closed while emergency services attend the scene, police said and congestion is to be expected in and around the area.
Drivers are asked to plan their route accordingly.
