Kendal are gearing up for a major Colts clash at Mint Bridge on Easter Monday.
They will be lining-up against New Brighton in the Halbro Colts League Senior Plate semi-final.
The winners of this semi-final will go through to play Blackburn Senior Under-18 Colts in the Halbro Colts League Senior Plate final.
This is to be staged on Sunday, May 1 at Eccles Rugby Club, which is located just north of the Trafford Centre in Manchester.
The Kendal senior squad consists of both Junior Under-17s Colts and Senior Under-18s Colts.
Along with many other clubs, Kendal merged their two age group sides at the start of the season to ensure that they could fulfil all Senior League (and Conference) fixtures.
It’s been a huge success, too, as the combined squad, suffered only a single defeat in the very last game of the League campaign, finishing runners-up by a single point to Newcastle (Staffordshire).
The Junior Under-17s Colts are winners of this year’s Cumbria Colts Under-17s Cup after beating Penrith at Wigton last month.
To reach the semi-final in this competition New Brighton had an exciting quarter final tie with Southport which they edged 22-20.
Kendal’s route through the quarter final stage was courtesy of a 27-19 win at Preston Grasshoppers.
Waiting finalists Blackburn have been convincing en-route with a 19-0 win at Glossop then a 38-10 semi-final victory over Rossendale.
The Easter Monday semi-final kicks off at 1pm and the club will be open from 12 noon.
