Workington Reds penultimate friendly on Friday night at Consett has been called off.
The game had been fixed for the Friday night because there is a club wedding on Saturday.
However, Consett have just had a new artificial pitch laid and it has not been signed off as being safe to play on for insurance purposes.
They cannot play on the pitch until it has been approved by the company who laid it and the club has been told that they cannot send a representative until Monday.
A trip to Consett has been a regular occurrence for the Reds in recent years but it won’t be re-arranged this time.
Reds were due to finish their pre-season build-up on August 1 at Clitheroe and that will still be the conclusion of the pre-season friendlies.
Manager Billy Barr will hold a training session on Saturday, with two more in mid-week before the trip to Clitheroe.
The NPL Premier Division season starts the following Saturday (August 8) with a trip to Gainsborough Trinity.
