Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland has teamed up with Stagecoach Cumbria and North Lancashire on a new fundraising venture.
The Sunflower Bus has been launched at the start of the charity’s 25th anniversary year. It features an eye-catching design and a call to the community to make a special anniversary donation to Hospice at Home, which provides local care for local patients at the end stages of life. This can be facilitated using the ‘Text to Donate’ method – supporters can text HAH5 to 70711 to donate £5 – or by scanning the QR code on the bus’s interior panels.
Laura Ridley, marketing manager for Stagecoach Cumbria & North Lancashire said: “We’re delighted to unveil the sunflower bus in support of Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland as they celebrate their 25th anniversary year.
“They play an important role in the communities that we serve and so we wanted to help raise awareness and vital funds for their service. We couldn’t think of a better way than their very own sunflower bus, which will be seen by thousands of people whilst out on the road each day.”
Cath Coates, fundraiser for Hospice at Home added: “We are absolutely thrilled with the Sunflower Bus and would like to thank all at Stagecoach for making this happen. The sunflower is the national symbol of hospice care and features prominently in our marketing materials, and we are delighted to incorporate it within the design of the bus.
“We encourage members of the public to consider making a special anniversary donation to ensure our service is available when needed and when they spot the bus out and about please take a photo and share it on our social media platforms!”
