Furness reached the quarter finals of the Higson Cup on Sunday when they beat Egremont by seven wickets.
The South Cumbrians are still waiting for clearance of their new professional Saeed Khan but chose wisely in a sub pro for the game at Gillfoot.
Rongsen Jonathan, a 35-year-old Indian who scored over 1,000 runs for Morecambe last season has joined Kendal for the current campaign.
He was drafted in by Furness and played his part with 3-17 and 49 not out as Furness moved smoothly through to the last eight.
The game was reduced to 35 overs a side because of rain and Egremont were bowled out for 108 off the first ball of the last over.
Opener Matthew Hunter top-scored with 33 and overseas amateur Javon Grosvenor hit 20 while Garry Thompson, like Jonathan took 3-17.
Sam Dutton (51) anchored the Furness reply after the visitors lost two quick wickets and found a willing ally in Jonathan (49no) who saw the South Cumbrians over the line with 8.4 overs to spare.
The quarter final games are: Whitehaven v Workington; Cockermouth v Carlisle; Dalton v Furness; Millom v Wigton.
