Dumbarton, one of the oldest clubs in Scotland, have agreed to play a friendly with Workington at Borough Park.
The Sons, who will be 150 years old on December 23, have just completed a miserable season north of the border.
They were beaten by Edinburgh City 5-2 on aggregate in the Division One play-offs after finishing ninth of 10 in the table. They will play next season in Division Two.
The game against the Reds will be played on Tuesday, July 5 with a 7.45pm kick-off and will be the third in a series of pre-season friendlies for Reds as manager Danny Grainger prepares for the start of the NPL West campaign on August 13.
That run of friendlies starts on Thursday, June 23 with a trip to Whitehaven Amateurs for the annual Shaun Hocking Memorial Trophy game.

There’s no game pencilled in for June 23 yet but Reds do have an attractive home game on Saturday, July 2 ahead of the Dumbarton game when they will host a Blackburn Rovers side. Carlisle United complete a treble of attractive home fixtures on Saturday, July 9.
Consett have figured frequently in recent years and on Saturday, July 16 Reds will travel to the North East to take on a side who have earned promotion through the play-offs to NPL East.
A trip to Penrith on Tuesday, July 19 is followed with a game on Saturday, July 23 at Kendal Town who are preparing for life in the North West Counties League Premier Division.
There are still one or two gaps to fill but they are expected to be sorted out quickly as Grainger wants his pre-season programme mapped out and confirmed.
