Lovers of the Lake District are being given the chance to have their favourite view captured on canvas.

Windermere Fine Art Gallery is offering the chance to have a bespoke painting commissioned, worth up to £1000.

The offer is part of the gallery’s celebration of the opening of its Lakeland Exhibition on June 1.

The exhibition will include an array of fine and contemporary art featuring the Lake District and will run until June 30.

Matthew Titherington, who owns Windermere Fine Art Gallery with his wife Dawn, said people can enter a draw to have their chosen view painted by one of the illustrious artists who exhibit at the gallery.

“We are offering an exceptionally rare and incredible chance to have your favourite Lakeland view painted by one of our amazing and award-winning artists,” he said.

“To enter, we would just like to know your favourite Lakeland view, the reasons why you love it and what it means to you.”

Submissions can be made online, by post or in-person to [email protected] or Windermere Fine Art, Beech Street, Windermere, LA23 1ED.

People can also telephone the gallery on 015394 88665 or go to its website at www.windermeregallery.co.uk. The closing date for entries is June 17.

“The winner will be selected midway through the exhibition to give you the chance to visit the gallery and select the participating and available artist you’d like to paint your favourite view,” Matthew added.

The painting will be 16 inches by 12 inches framed and signed by the artist.
