An open day for the Simon Rogan Academy will be held on Monday.
The academy, which launched in summer 2021, is looking for its next intake of 24 students who want a career in the food industry.
The open day will be held at L’Enclume in Cartmel, between 1.30pm and 4.30pm. It is designed to give students considering enrolling in the Simon Rogan Academy a chance to take a look behind the scenes of the three Michelin-starred restaurant, meet members of the team and discover more about the fully accredited academy apprenticeship delivered with Kendal College.
There are up to 12 places available for aspiring chefs and 12 places for those considering a career front of house.
The course runs for a full 18 months and culminates with a week at Roganic, Simon Rogan’s one Michelin-starred restaurant in Hong Kong – with all flights and hotel accommodation paid for.
During their studies students on the chefs course will work across Simon’s Lake District restaurants for four days a week.
Front of house team members will work across Simon’s restaurants five days a week, including eight hours of training delivered by the in-house teams on a weekly basis, supplemented with additional training each month at Kendal College to further enhance their first-hand experiences.
During their training, both cohorts will have direct access to some of the most experienced members of the team, and to develop their skills and knowledge in other areas. In addition, they will have the opportunity to work on special events and spend time with the growing team at Our Farm, Simon’s farm close to Cartmel.
The training is underpinned with structured learning from designated tutors at Kendal College’s Culinary School, as students work towards an accredited apprenticeship.
