Ahead of Saturday’s prestigious Dog Produce trails at Potter’s Park, hounds had a chance to look round the course last night.
Over 100 hounds contested the four trails although there was disappointment for 25 of them when the open non-winners was declared void after they were over time.
Biggest field of the night was for the seniors when 34 were slipped and the reigning senior champion Crazy showed her well-being ahead of the big meeting by seeing off the opposition for a timely win.
Shew initiated a double for owners Evie Moore, Jonty Moore and Jack Thompson as their dog Ned’s Gain beat the in-form Silver Streak in the puppy trail. They will be looking to repeat the feat on Saturday.
After the void race for the open non-winners an all-in trail completed proceedings with 31 going to the slip and being led home by Christine McGee’s Apache.

HTA secretary Fiona Dixon said: “We had plenty of dogs wanting a look around ahead of the Dog Produce Trails this coming Saturday and we are expecting a bumper turnout.
“Before then there’s a meeting on Wednesday at Buttermere with the first trail at 6.30pm. For anyone wanting to see the hounds in action it’s probably one of the best seeing trails in the association.”
