Cumbrian households and businesses who are interested in solar panels will be able to get independent advice at a free webinar this month.

The online question time event, run by Cumbria Action for Sustainability (CAfS) on June 15, will answer the most common queries people have about installing solar panels on their homes or business premises.

It will include a talk by a homeowner who recently installed solar PV and is a chance to find out how CAfS has been helping communities to install the technology and save energy.

The webinar also marks the launch of a new solar FAQ section on the CAfS website, helping Cumbrians to make informed decisions on solar installations.

Molly Hogg, low carbon communities manager at CAfS, said: “As people’s bills continue to get more and more expensive, it’s really important that they know exactly what options they have for reducing their energy demand.

“This online question time is an opportunity for Cumbrians to talk to the experts and to hear from someone who has gone through the process recently to gain the most clear and up to date information.”

CAfS is working alongside Carbon Coop and community group Ambleside Action for a Future to try and make the process clear and easy to understand. The project is funded by Electricity Northwest and South Lakeland District Council.

The event is open for booking now via the CAfS website at www.cafs.org.uk/events
