
Two people were rescued by firefighters after their car plunged into a South Cumbrian river.
Four fire crews were called at around 12.35pm to the A590 near Penny Bridge in Ulverston to the incident, which involved one vehicle.
Two casualties were assessed by paramedics from the North West Ambulance Service at the scene. Firefighters used four swift water rescue technicians, a thermal image camera and lighting in the rescue and were detained for about 60 minutes.
