There are queues on the A66 in both directions at Warcop due to a broken down lorry.
Our colleagues at Cumbria Road Watch are reporting that motorists in the area should expect long delays.
The lorry is said to have broken down at Hayber Lane.
Police are in attendance and said they were called at around 11.30am.
A spokesman added: “The HGV is obstructing the westbound carriageway. Traffic is congested in both directions and drivers should plan their route accordingly.
“Recovery is being arranged but may take some time.”
