New SPAR shopping experience comes to Penrith with transformed town centre store

A new SPAR shopping experience comes to Penrith with transformed town centre store.

Located in Burrowgate, new additions to the SPAR store include a Cheeky Coffee machine for a range of great value on-the-go hot drinks, and an in-demand Tango Ice Blast machine has been installed.

A designated off-licence corner has been created in the revamped store, and contemporary, energy efficient fridge cabinets have been fitted to house a comprehensive range of beers and wines that will be chilled ready for purchase.

Soft drinks will be another product section that benefit from the installation of the eco chillers, and the store’s green credentials have also been improved with the addition of LED lighting throughout, helping to deliver a brighter shopping experience for customers.

There is an increased range in several product areas across the store and a completely new product line is Vibe mobile phone accessories.

There is a community feel to the in-store environment with a photo vinyl of Penrith’s famous clock tower, while externally, a clean and freshened up SPAR fascia has been added.

It is the first time the Burrowgate SPAR store has had a significant refurbishment since it opened its doors to the Penrith community in 1994, and the store team led by manager Steve Wright are ready to welcome customers inside.

Fiona Drummond, company stores director at James Hall & Co Ltd, which owns and services the store, said: “For nearly three decades our Burrowgate SPAR has served the community in Penrith.

“We are delighted with the clean look and feel the store now has, complemented by the local touches in terms of décor. The introduction of a range of new products and services really enhances the store’s offer tremendously.

“Nurturing our Neighbourhoods and Passionate about Local are two of SPAR’s brand pillars, and we wholeheartedly believe that Burrowgate is a great example of these for the town of Penrith.”

The store’s opening hours are 7am until 11pm, Monday to Saturday, and 7am until 10.30pm on Sunday.
