
Luke Johnston returned to winning ways at the Keswick 25-mile time trial organised by Velo Club Cumbria.
Johnston covered the flat 25 mile course in sunny, but blustery, conditions on the A66 in a time of 53 minutes and 56 seconds at an average speed of 27.81mph.
He edged Allistair Moffat into second place by 59 seconds while David Hill was third in a time of 56:01. The fastest female rider as usual was Sue Toppin with a time of 01:10:23.
VCC’s club time trials continue on Tuesday, July 12, with the Cockermouth eight-mile time trial. Sign on is from 6pm at Cockermouth School.
