Biker taken to hospital following serious crash

A man was taken to hospital following a serious crash on the A686 between Hartside and Alston.

Cumbria police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened at around 4.25pm on Saturday on the A686.

The collision involved a blue Ford Focus, a green MG and a black Yamaha motorcycle.

A 51-year-old man from the Newcastle area, who was riding the Yamaha motorcycle, was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle, with serious injuries.

The driver of the Ford Focus was uninjured and the driver of the MG sustained minor injuries. 

Police are appealing for anyone with information, dashcam footage or who witnessed the collision to contact PS 2219 YOUNG or PC 2607 HALFORD by calling 101 or emailing [email protected]. Include the reference log number 135 of the 9th July 2022 with any information reported.
