The M6 northbound between junctions 43 and 47 has reopened following a lorry fire.
Emergency services were called at around 6.40pm last night after reports of a collision between two HGVs on the northbound carriageway near junction 44. The fire service was called as one of the lorries was on fire and due to the amount of smoke, the M6 was closed completely.
Three fire engines attended the incident and spent several hours bringing the blaze under control.
The southbound carriageway reopened at about 8.40pm last night. No one involved in the collision was seriously injured.
The northbound carriageway had to be closed for emergency resurfacing work and recovery but have reopened this afternoon.
However, only one lane on the southbound carriageway between junctions 42 and 43 is open for traffic following a separate collision.
The other two are expected to be closed until at least 4.15pm and there are currently delays of around an hour, according to National Highways.
