The final day of Kendal Calling 2022 has arrived and what a blast it has been so far.
Today’s highlights include Bill Bailey who is due on at 3pm.
Also due to perform is Sophie Ellis-Bextor before the night’s headliners, Bastille.
Festival-goers Sarah Deans, Jess Humes and Beth Clifford, who are all from Workington, told Cumbria Crack they have been having a great time.
“The festival is lovely, really good,” they said. Heather Small was said to be a real highlight of Friday. “She was amazing. Vibes were electric,” added Beth.
Jess said: “I liked Hacienda Classical on the Thursday night.”
Despite issues around people actually getting to the site – with journey times of 15 minutes taking people up to three to four hours on the A66 – once there, people got into the festival swing.
Cumbria Crack caught up with Carlisle band Hardwicke Circus earlier today prior to them rocking what a packed-out Yam Riot stage.
The five-piece band are fresh from Worthy Farm where they were added to a Sunday slot on The Rabbit Hole stage, after music icon Sir Paul McCartney heard their music and asked if they could be included in Glastonbury’s 50th-anniversary line-up.
Paul Sexton of the Sunday Times described the band as bulletproof. He said: “The five-piece band who are not only turning heads with the confident glide in their stride, they’re literally bulletproof.”
Ahead of their Kendal Calling set, the band said they were feeling great about being back in the fields after three years away.
