New sponsor revealed for Carlisle United

A Cumbrian mineral water firm has been named as an official sponsor of Carlisle United’s first team for the 2022/23 season.

The deal will see the logo of Aqua Pura — which has a large extraction plant near Armathwaite in Eden — feature on the team’s shorts this season, as well as on signs in the stadium. Additionally, Aqua Pura will be available from refreshment stands around the Brunton Park football ground.

The Aqua Pura water is sourced from one of the UK’s largest aquifers, more than 300m below ground in Penrith sandstone, and the brand said it was proud to be supporting its local football team.

Matthew Fearn, Aqua Pura’s deputy plant manager, said: “We’re thrilled to be teaming up with Carlisle United to sponsor their first team this season. At Aqua Pura we’re truly passionate about our local area thanks to Cumbria being a great home to us for over 30 years.

“As our local football club, which is just up the road from where Aqua Pura water is sourced and bottled, the partnership will give us the opportunity to get more involved with the local community here in Cumbria, while keeping supporters hydrated during the season.”

Debbie Huddart, commercial sales manager at Carlisle United, said: “This is a new partnership for the club and we’re absolutely delighted that such a strong local brand is on board.”
