Two children have been arrested after a hedgehog was killed by being wrapped in paper and set on fire in Carlisle.
Police put out an appeal for information about the incident, which happened on Monday, July 25 in the Lichen Grove area of Raffles.
Carlisle police said: After our recent report of animal cruelty, neighbourhood officers identified and arrested two suspects.
“On their release these children have agreed to an acceptable behaviour contract that prevents them being out at night or associating with each other.
“Their parents are also signed up, ensuring these responsibilities are taken seriously to prevent further offending.
“We are now in dialogue with our housing partners to take action against their tenancies, should their children continue to commit anti-social behaviour on Raffles. We are thankful for the communities help when investigating this.”
