Carlisle City skipper Josh Simpson will miss tonight’s Northern League game at Bishop Auckland.
Simpson was hurt in Saturday’s fine 2-1 win at West Auckland in the extra-preliminary round of the FA Cup.
City boss Jim Nichols said: ”It was quite an horrendous challenge on Josh which went unpunished. He will be a miss because he has been playing really well.
“Tyler Bowman has to miss out through illness and Aaron Bradbury is away on holiday so we have to make changes for what will be quite a test for us.
“But it does give opportunities to other lads in the squad and we go there full of confidence after our recent performances.
“They have a good set-up at Bishops, there will be a good gcrowd and they have invested quite heavily during the summer hoping for promotion so it will be a test.
“I think we made a statement on Saturday, however, with that 2-1 FA Cup win at West Auckland. Once we got ahead I thought we were the better side and deserved the win.
“It was good to get through and bring some valuable cash into the club. We have a good home draw, too, against Goole Town who were surprise winners against Consett. Some goalkeeping errors seem to have contributed.
“But Goole is in 10 days’ time and what matters is the League game tonight at Bishop Auckland.”
