Penrith went down 4-1 at West Allotment Celtic last night in their latest Northern League game.
It leaves them third bottom, but clearly the inability for manager Darren Edmondson to field a settled side is causing problems.
“We had six changes again through one reason or another and that isn’t helping us. The confidence levels are low but with a young side that is going to happen if you get a run of poor results.
“Although we conceded early last night, we got back level within two minutes which was encouraging.
“But after they had got back level we then conceded two goals in unbelievably quick time.
“We kicked off after the third, played it back and the pass forward gave the ball to one of their lads who scored from 30 yards – a complete disaster.
“I think we’ve 31 players signed on and most of those have played after eight games.
“I’m hoping that once we are rid of mid-week games things can settle down. We can work in training during the week and have a settled side on a Saturday with holidays and other things out of the way,” said Edmondson.
Lucas Lowery-Matondo scored after only seven minutes for Celtic with Luke Hunter responding two minutes later.
Mechak Kanda put them back in front on 18 minutes and then came those two rapid fire goals from Lowery-Matondo and Connor Campbell to give the hosts a 4-1 lead at the break – and nothing changed in the second-half.
Penrith travel to Redcar Athletic on Saturday and they have made a steady start with two wins, two draws and two defeats from their six matches.
