
Firefighters from three station were called out after a lorry caught fire on the M6.
Crews from Carlisle East, Carlisle West, and Longtown, were mobilised to reports of the blaze, near Junction 44 of the M6, at around 9.15pm yesterday, October 18.
The driver of the vehicle had pulled the vehicle off the M6 onto the Carlisle bypass, and the fire involved the brakes of the trailer unit of the vehicle.
Crews extinguished the fire using hosereel jets and breathing apparatus.
