Workington Reds boss Danny Grainger admits he has a selection headache tomorrow at Hanley.

Reds, trying to continue their unbeaten run in the League, have two players back who missed last week’s 2-1 home win over high-flying Runcorn Linnets.

Dav Symington and Jim Atkinson were both unavailable for the game, while second-half substitutions helped turn a 1-0 deficit into a late win.

“It is a headache but the sort you don’t mind. It’s encouraging that players who come in do a good job for you. We are on an unbeaten run in the League of five games – four wins and a draw – and we want to keep that going.

“Hanley have just changed their management team and that could change the way they set-up tomorrow. We know a little about them and although the results haven’t worked out for them they do have some good players,” said Granger.

The Workington boss also confirmed that defender Tom Mahone is joining Northern League side Carlisle City where he will join former Cleator Moor Celtic team-mate Callum Birdsall.

“Tom joined us in the summer and his attitude has been first class. He has been unfortunate not to get the game time he would have liked.

“Carlisle City have done everything right and we wish Tom all the very best going forward and thank him for his efforts with the Reds,” said Grainger.
